On June 7th, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos announced that he would go to space onboard Blue Origin's New Shepard's first human flight scheduled to launch from West Texas on July 20th. Bezos wrote on Instagram, "Ever since I was five years old, I've dreamed of traveling to space. On July 20th, I will take that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend."

NASA made history on April 19, 2021, when the 4-pound Ingenuity helicopter worth $85 million successfully embarked on its maiden flight on Mars, hovering 10 feet off the ground for 40 seconds. Ingenuity's body is 19 inches in height. A pair of carbon-fiber counter-rotating impellers rotated at 2,500 revolutions per second to take flight on Mars, which has only 1% of the atmospheric volumetric density of Earth.
