Ten dead and several others injured in LA mass shooting

The Facts

On January 21, a man fatally shot ten people and injured at least ten others at a ballroom dance hall during a Chinese Lunar New Year celebration near Los Angeles.
The LA County Sheriff’s Dept Information Beaureu released a statement that read “officers from the Monterey Park Police Department responded to a business in the 100 block of West Garvey Avenue in the city of Monterey Park regarding shots fired call.”
Monterey Park Fire Department pronounced ten of the victims deceased at the scene. “There were at least ten additional victims transported to numerous local hospitals. The suspect fled the scene.”
Los Angeles County Sheriff, Robert Luna, identified the suspect to be a “male/adult/Asian” and released images of the suspect taken from surveillance camera footage.
“Investigators have identified him as a Homicide suspect and he should be considered armed and dangerous,” he added.
Authorities found the suspect dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the van he used to flee the scene.
In a press conference, Luna identified the man as 72-year-old Huu Can Tran and said no other suspects remain at large.
