Peru has declared a state of emergency following deadly protests sparked by the ousting of former President Pedro Castillo.
European, South American, and Peruvian tourists are among those unable to leave the ancient city due to the suspension of the train service.
On Wednesday, Peru’s defense Minister Alberto Otarola announced a 30-day state of emergency.
Otarola said the emergency would involve “the suspension of freedom of movement and assembly.”
