Where: United States

The Facts

The US is going to provide Ukraine with an additional $4.5 billion in direct budgetary support to help ease the “acute budget deficit” caused by Russia’s invasion.
According to the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the fund will be provided to the Ukrainian government in two payments before the year’s end.
USAID stated, “These funds, provided by the United States through the World Bank, allow the Government of Ukraine to withstand the immense economic, social, and political pressures from Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.”
The new round of assistance will help sustain basic government services such as hospitals, schools, and utilities and support emergency responders.
Including this round of funding, the US government has provided Ukraine with $13 billion in direct budgetary support.
