On Saturday, thousands took to the streets across Peru to demand the resignation of President Pedro Castillo.
The leftist President’s government is under investigation for corruption.
Protestors marched through Lima and toward the government palace when dozens of riot police fired tear gas to stop them.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Castillo has called those who oppose his government “reactionaries” and “the enemies of people.”
