The Facts
Chengdu is the latest city in China to be locked down as the government continues to pursue its “zero-Covid” policy.
More than 21 million residents have been ordered to stay home. As part of the regulations, only one person from each house per day can shop for necessities.
Officials have not yet declared how long the lockdown will continue, but there will definitely be economic implications.
The start of the new school semester has been postponed by education authorities.
China is one of the last places in the world still enforcing stringent Covid measures, including mass testing and instant lockdowns.
