Where: Ukraine
The Facts
A convoy of three ships loaded with 58,000 tons of corn has left Ukrainian ports.
The ships are headed to Turkey for inspection.
The Russian news agency TASS stated, “As the joint coordination center informed, Polarnet will deliver the cargo to the Turkish port of Karasu, Navistar is to anchor in Ireland’s Ringaskiddy, and Rozhen is headed towards the UK’s Teesport.”
While tons of grains are making their way out with the latest shipments, it is still a fraction of the grains trapped in the country because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Ukraine is one of the bread baskets of the world and since the conflict began, there have been fears of global grain shortage.
