Where: Washington, DC
The Facts
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order to allow women to travel out of state to access abortion procedures.
This is the President’s second executive order to protect abortion rights following the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.
The order was signed at the first meeting of the Task Force on Reproductive Health Care focused on coordinating the federal government’s efforts on reproductive health.
Biden said the order would “help safeguard access to health care, including the right to choose and contraception,” and that it “promotes safety and security of clinics, patients and providers, and protect patients’ privacy and access to accurate information.”
The order also aims to ensure health care providers comply with federal non-discrimination law.
