The Facts
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed the findings of an investigation into the US Border Patrol’s Horse Patrol Unit activity at Del Rio, TX.
The incident under investigation occurred on September 19th, 2021, during an unexpected surge in migrants.
A CBP media release stated, ” The investigation found no evidence that agents struck any person with horse reins.”
The release further stated, ” The investigation concluded that there were failures at multiple levels of the agency, a lack of appropriate policies and training, and unprofessional and dangerous behavior by several individual Agents.”
A series of corrective actions will be taken to remedy the issues identified in the report.
