The Facts
On Monday, a 29-year-old soccer player succumbed to his injuries from a fight in Oxnard, California.
Misael Sanchez had been in hospital for 15 days after a fight on July 10.
First responders found Sanchez unresponsive on the high school soccer field in Oxnard.
The fight broke out over the referee’s call, with some spectators joining in as well.
Berlin Jose Melgara, 46, was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting Sanchez.
