Ukrainian troops continue to fight for control of Sievierodonetsk

The Facts
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has gone on record to state that Ukrainian troops are not giving up their positions and are fighting street by street for the control of Sievierodonetsk, a key industrial city in the country’s eastern Donbas region.
Zelenskyy stated, “Our heroes do not give up positions in Sievierodonetsk. In the city, fierce street fighting continues… And the Ukrainian Donbas stands, stands strong.”
Zelenskyy noted that there hadn’t been any significant changes in the situation in Donbas in the past 24 hours, and Russian forces had not achieved a breakthrough against Ukraine’s troops.
The Ukrainian President added that the heaviest fighting continued around Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, and Popasna.
Zelenskyy also claimed that about 31,000 Russian soldiers had lost their lives since Moscow invaded Ukraine.
