The Ukrainian port city of Mariupol is destroyed by weeks of shelling and the infrastructure is heavily damaged.
Safe drinking water has been inconsistent and Mariupol is at risk of a major cholera outbreak.
UK defense ministry stated, “There is likely a critical shortage of medicines in Kherson, while Mariupol is at risk of a major cholera outbreak. Isolated cases of cholera have been reported since May.”
Uncollected dead bodies make the conditions unsanitary.
Mayor Vadym Boychenko has closed off the city to avoid larger outbreaks of infectious diseases.
