On Wednesday, Attorney General Merrick Garland ordered an investigation into local law enforcement’s response to the Uvalde mass shooting.
Nineteen children and two adults were killed in the shooting.
A Justice Department team of 9 will now begin reviewing the police response to the shooting at Robb Elementary School amid survivor claims that more could have been done.
On Thursday, TX State Sen. Roland Gutierrez stated that 911 calls made from inside the school on May 24 had not been relayed to the police commander.
Several parents have reported that police delayed storming the school on the day of the shooting.
