China has slashed the quarantine time for inbound travelers to seven days from 14.
The subsequent health monitoring at home period has been cut from seven days to three.
Health officials believe the shorter incubation period of the Omicron variant enables and allows for the reduction in quarantine time.
The National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China stated, “On June 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections.”
China’s strict adherence to Covid regulations, even as the world learns to cope with the coronavirus, has infuriated many of its population and negatively affected the economy.
