The winners of the 106th annual Pulitzer Prizes in Journalism, Letters, Drama, and Music were announced on Monday.
The Washington Post received a Pulitzer in the ‘Public Service’ category for its account of the US Capitol attack on January 6th, 2021.
The Miami Herald’s staff picked up an award in the ‘Breaking News Reporting’ category for their coverage of the Surfside apartment towers’ collapse in FL.
Reuters’ Adnan Abidi, Sanna Irshad Mattoo, Amit Dave, and the late Danish Siddiqui were awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Photography for their images depicting the toll of COVID-19 in India.
The Pulitzer Committee also presented a special citation to the journalist community of Ukraine for their “courage, endurance, and commitment to truthful reporting” on Russia’s military offensive in Ukraine and Vladimir Putin’s “propaganda war in Russia.”
