More Ukrainian fighters surrender in Mariupol. Russian soldier faces trial in Kyiv.

The Facts
On Wednesday, the Russian defense ministry claimed that 959 Ukrainian fighters from the Azovstal steelworks had surrendered since Monday.
Recent figures reveal that six hundred ninety-four Ukrainian fighters have surrendered in the past 24 hours. A total of 109 of these are reported to have been wounded.
The ministry added that Russia had also battered foreign mercenaries and destroyed Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft, Ukrainian arsenals, and S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems.
Meanwhile, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) leader, Denis Pushilin, claimed that top Ukrainian commanders from Mariupol had refused to surrender to Russian forces.
In Kyiv, Russian soldier Oleksandr Shelipov, 21, faces life in prison as he stands trial for shooting a 62-year-old man a few days into the invasion.
