The Facts

On Tuesday, World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus openly criticized China’s zero-tolerance policy toward Covid-19, referring to their protocols as unsustainable.
Ghebreyesus said, “We don’t think that it is sustainable considering the behaviour of the virus and what we now anticipate in the future.”
The WHO chief added that the organization had discussed these concerns with Chinese experts, pressing the idea that a paradigm shift was necessary.
Meanwhile, Dr. Krishna Udayakumar of Duke Global Health Innovation Center at Duke University said, “We’re not testing anywhere near where we might need to.”
Experts estimate that testing figures for Covid have dropped by 70%-90% since the first quarter of this year, making it more difficult for them to track the virus.
