The Facts
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden visited Buffalo following a mass shooting incident at a Tops Friendly Markets store last week. The Bidens met with the victims’ families.
On May 14th, a gunman killed ten individuals and injured three using an AR-15-style rifle. Eleven of the victims were black.
Referring to the incident as a “racist rampage” and “domestic terrorism,” Biden noted that white supremacy was “poison running through our body politic.”
Biden added that white supremacy had been allowed to fester and grow “right in front of our eyes” and called on all citizens to condemn it.
Biden stated, “Jill and I bring you this message from deep in our nation’s soul: In America, evil will not win – I promise you. Hate will not prevail. And white supremacy will not have the last word.”
