On Monday, the Biden administration announced it would be reinstating a program allowing US citizens and permanent residents to apply for their families in Cuba to enter the US.
The Cuban Family Reunification Parole Program will allow citizens and permanent residents to do so without waiting for immigrant visas.
The Trump administration had suspended the program during his presidency. Biden has also promised increased capacity for consular services and visa processing in Havana.
Furthermore, the CFRP will allow people in the US to send money to their families in Cuba. Sending is currently capped at $1000 per quarter for a single sender.
The US will also expand authorized travel beyond Havana and into other cities in Cuba.
