Where: Iraq

The Facts

On Thursday morning, a severe sandstorm hit 18 Iraqi provinces, including Baghdad and Al-Anbar.
Iraq health ministry spokesman, Seid al-Badr, announced that over 5000 people had since sought medical treatment, with one having died due to the storm.
Seid added that the storm hit people with chronic respiratory diseases and the elderly with heart ailments the worst.
This was the seventh such storm to shroud Iraq in thick clouds of dust recently, this one causing flights to be grounded and several residents to suffer respiratory problems.
