Chinese drone manufacturer suspends business in Russia and Ukraine

The Facts
DJI Technology Co Ltd., a Chinese company that produces drones, has announced they will be suspending business in Russia and Ukraine.
DJI news stated, “DJI is internally reassessing compliance requirements in various jurisdictions. Pending the current review, DJI will temporarily suspend all business activities in Russia and Ukraine.”
DJI is the first major Chinese company to halt sales in Russia as a result of its invasion of Ukraine.
A DJI statement on the military use of drones reads, “Our products are made to improve people’s lives and benefit the world, and we absolutely deplore any use of our products to cause harm. DJI has only ever made products for civilian use; they are not designed for military applications.”
Contrary to the majority of Western companies, Chinese firms have generally been silent about their operations in Russia.
