The Facts

On Monday, NJ Governor Phil Murphy announced that the statewide mask mandate would be lifted for school students, employees, and childcare facilities from March 7th.

Murphy stated, “Balancing public health with getting back to some semblance of normalcy is not easy. But we can responsibly take this step due to declining COVID numbers and growth in vaccinations.”

The CA Department of Public Health noted that the state’s indoor masking mandate will expire on February 15th and that they intend to revert to previous guidelines after that time.

As per the previous CA guidelines, unvaccinated individuals were required to wear masks in indoor settings, with all individuals having been required to wear masks in “higher risk settings like public transit.”

DE Governor John Carney lifted the statewide indoor masking mandate, effective from February the 11th. Carney also temporarily extended the masking mandate for public and private schools and childcare facilities.

A press release from Carney’s Office stated that the extended “requirement, which applies to children kindergarten-age and older, will expire at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 31st.”
