Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that the statewide mask mandate in NY schools will be lifted on Wednesday.
Governor Hochul tweeted, “Now, with COVID cases declining by 98% since the Omicron peak and updated @CDCgov guidance in place, we will lift the statewide school mask requirement this coming Wednesday.”
Mayor Eric Adams plans to lift pandemic measures in New York City on March 7.
Adams stated, “So long as our indicators show a low level of risk and we see no surprises this week, on Monday, March 7 we will also remove the vaccination requirements for Key2NYC — meaning indoor dining, fitness and entertainment venues.”
Parents may still choose to send their children to school wearing masks
