On Wednesday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson outlined a plan to lift the remaining domestic COVID-related restrictions in the country soon.
Johnson stated, “Provided the current encouraging trends in the data continue, it is my expectation that we will be able to end the last remaining domestic restrictions… a full month early.”
According to Johnson, these restrictions include the legal requirement for COVID-positive individuals to self-isolate.
Johnson announced that he would be presenting the government’s strategy for “living with COVID” in the House of Commons (the Parliament) on the first day after the half-term recess.
The House of Commons is scheduled to return from half-term recess on February 21st.
