The Facts

On December 20th, the January 6th Select Committee requested that Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) provide information regarding the January 6th Capitol attack and its causes.

Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) requested that Perry provide details of the events, including information regarding former President Trump’s alleged efforts to install Jeffrey Clark as acting US Attorney General.

On December 21st, Perry announced that he was declining the Committee’s request.

Referring to the Committee as “illegitimate” in his tweets, Perry stated that it was “not duly constituted” under the US House of Representatives’ rules.

Perry tweeted, “I decline this entity’s request and will continue to fight the failures of the radical Left who desperately seek distraction from their abject failures of crushing inflation, a humiliating surrender in Afghanistan, and the horrendous crisis they created at our border.”
