The Facts
On Friday, the NFL announced the rescheduling of three games due to a “substantial increase” in COVID-19 cases and the “highly transmissible” variant.
Reportedly over 100 players are on the COVID/Reserve list, forcing the league to reschedule games for the first time this season.
In response to the growing number of cases, the NFL recently changed its COVID protocols, implementing a mask mandate for everyone regardless of vaccination.
This week, the three teams who postponed their games are the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, and Washington Football Team – having a combined COVID/Reserve list of 68 players.
On Friday, NFL Network reporter, Tom Pelissero, stated over 150 players have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past five days.
