The Facts

Hundreds of migrants from the Belarus side are stuck at the Belarus-Poland border in freezing weather – most of the migrants are from the Middle East.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated on November 10th that two long-range Tu-22m3 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces patrolled the airspace of Belarus.

The Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland tweeted, “Today, we are defending the Polish-Belarusian border, but we are also protecting NATO’s eastern flank and the eastern border of the #EU. I am glad that the entire European Union and @NATO are speaking with one voice.”

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, urged the involved States to de-escalate and resolve the situation.

Lithuania introduced a state of emergency over the migrant crisis.
