The Facts
Jacob Anthony Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in the US Capitol riot. He was also sentenced to 3 years supervised release and will have to pay $100 in restitution.
The so-called “QAnon Shaman” is well-known for the widely shared photos of him shirtless, wearing face paint and a headdress inside the Senate chamber.
Chansley had also pleaded guilty to one felony count of obstruction in an official proceeding in September.
Sentencing Chansley, US District Judge Royce Lamberth said, “What you did was horrific, obstructing the functioning of the government. What you did was terrible. You made yourself the epitome of the riot.”
Chansley, 34, said before his sentencing, “I admit to the world I was wrong. I have no excuses. My behavior was indefensible.”
