Haitian migrants removed from US-Mexico border

Haiti migrants cleared from under TX bridge. 17 expulsion flights conducted to Haiti.

The Facts

There are no longer any migrants camping under the bridge at Del Rio, TX, out of the 15,000 who recently crossed the border.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said 17 expulsion flights were conducted to Haiti with about 2,000 migrants under Title 42 authority.

Approximately 12,400 migrants will go before an immigration judge to decide if they will be permitted to remain in the US.

President Biden promised to take action against border patrol agents on horseback who ill-treated migrants. He said, “I promise you, those people will pay. An investigation is underway now, and there will be consequences.”

Haiti is facing multiple crises, including poverty, political upheaval, Covid-19, and a recent earthquake.
