Where: United States

The Facts

A US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advisory panel recommended Pfizer vaccine booster shots for adults aged 65 and older, and some people with underlying medical conditions.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky, CDC Director, recommended booster shots for people at high risk for Covid-19 because of institutional or occupational exposure.

President Joe Biden urged those eligible to get their booster vaccine shots – He said he would be getting a booster shot himself soon.

President Biden stated, “You’re as safe as possible. You’re in good shape. And we’re doing everything we can to keep it that way, which is where the booster comes in.”

Data is being analyzed to determine if and when those vaccinated with Moderna or J&J vaccines need a booster shot.
