On Thursday, the California Department of Public Health stated healthcare workers throughout the state should be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by September 30th.
The new rule applies to hospital employees, nursing facilities, clinics & doctor’s offices, day health care centers, hospices, dialysis centers, and other healthcare facilities.
Dr. Tomas Aragon, state public health officer and director of the California Department of Public Health, stated, “Today’s action will also ensure that healthcare workers themselves are protected.”
The LA County Superior Court has mandated that employees should get fully vaccinated as a condition of employment once a Covid-19 vaccine receives final government approval.
LA County is considering additional actions to help reduce transmission of the Delta variant, including vaccination as a condition of entry in indoor public spaces.
