Alabama Governor urges vaccinations

Leaders urge people to get vaccinated. CDC Director warns against the delta variant.

▪ Alabama Governor Kay Ivey urged Alabama residents to get vaccinated – She told reporters, “It’s the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down.”

▪ Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated, “What we can do is provide accurate information to people who are not yet vaccinated about the risks they are incurring not only among — on themselves, but also the people around them.”

▪ Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell stated, “Get vaccinated! These shots need to get into arms as rapidly as possible, or else we’re gonna be back in a situation this fall like what we went through last year.”

▪ The CDC states that 56.4% of the total population of all Americans, including children, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

▪ CDC Director, Rochelle Walensky, urged people to take the delta variant seriously and get vaccinated.
