▪ The Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19 in adolescents 12-15 years of age is awaiting FDA approval.

▪ The two-dose vaccine is currently available to ages 16 and above, with a Phase 3 trial reporting 100% efficacy and robust antibody responses in 2,260 participants in the 16-25 years age group.

▪ On March 31, 2021, Pfizer-BioNTech announced positive results in a study with 2,260 participants in the 12-15 years age group: study side-effects were consistent with those observed in participants in 16-25 years of age.

▪ Pfizer said, “The trial enrolled 2,260 adolescents 12 to 15 years of age in the United States. In the trial, 18 cases of COVID-19 were observed in the placebo group versus none in the vaccinated group.”
