▪ Southern border coordinator Roberta Jacobson will retire at the end of April.
▪ The former ambassador to Mexico has been at the forefront of efforts to handle the surge of migrants at the border.
▪ US Customs and Border Protection data shows that in March, authorities encountered more than 172,000 people attempting illegal entry along the southwest border – a 71% increase over February 2021.
